This is our third West Coast Round-up. What you can expect ?

  • World-class presenters.
  • Longer (90 minute) rotations to allow presenters enough time to go into more detail.
  • Caters to all skill levels - there is something for everyone.
  • An organized event where everyone can relax and enjoy themselves.
  • Excellent food and hospitality.
  • An all-inclusive package price.

Our last two Symposia were huge successes and this year's will be no exception. We have two local and talented presenters, Jason Marlow and Art Liestman; two well-known Canadian turners, Marilyn Campbell and Michael Hosaluk; two excellent craftsmen from the United States, Dale Larson and Nick Cook; and two international artists, Alain Mailland and Graeme Priddle. This carefully chosen mix of talent is intended to provide turners of all skill levels and interests with lots to see and learn. These presenters represent a wealth of knowledge which they will openly and enthusiastically share with you.

Please plan to bring up to three pieces for the Instant Gallery. This wonderful tradition amongst woodturners is an excellent chance to see a wide variety of work and to have your work appreciated by others, regardless of your skill level.

On Friday evening there will be a casual reception so you can meet with one another and make new friends. Several of the presenters will be asked to review the Instant Gallery and select some items for open discussion. These (usually very) positive critiques are an excellent chance to refine your eye and learn from some of the best.

On Saturday evening there will be an excellent banquet and a fund-raising auction. We hope that you will participate actively in the auction. We will sell many of the pieces made by the presenters in their rotations as well as a range of artwork and other items donated to the Guild in support of this Symposium.

Of course Friday, Saturday & Sunday during the day, we have our demonstrations. At any one time, there are 4 to choose from. There are 11 rotations in all. Details of these demonstrations will be posted by May 28th, 2010.
